cargo biking families
StorytellingI want to hear your stories. I believe in the power of storytelling to help effect change.
why
Storytelling?
Because it connects real people. It bridges the gap between self and other. It brings human element to planning and policy. It is a giant empathy building exercise on so many levels.
About a year ago, someone pointed out to me that much of the work that I do is related to storytelling. The idea to go beyond just my stories has been percolating for awhile and recently I found a resource that helped to kickstart this project.
I want to collect your stories. Please grab a hot drink, find the space and time to be reflective, and tell me your story.
Consider emailing me some prose.
I recommend sitting down and putting the term “cargo biking” in the middle of your page so that you can brainstorm a web of important ideas for you. These will form the backbone of your story. What does cargo biking mean to you and your family? Are there financial or health benefits that have been transformative for you? Is there something about cargo biking that just rocks your world? Have you built community? Has it turned you into a fighter, trying to effect change with respect to infrastructure or raising levels of active travel in your community?
You might think that your story is ordinary, but I hazard to guess that no cargo biking family’s story is ordinary to the majority of North Americans. And your story needs to be heard.
Email me ([email protected]) your story in prose form.

people behind
Storytelling
Consider sharing a snapshot of what your life was like before cargo biking entered it. Where were you coming from? What were you trying to change? Why?
Since this particular survey includes a photo upload, you’ll need to be able to sign into Google in order to complete it.
Here is an example of what this project could look like.
